Avenue Health has a modern sterilisation department with trained staff, that meets the AS/NZS 4187 standards for decontaminating and sterilising surgical instruments and other reusable medical devices.
The decontamination area includes an ultrasonic cleaner, high-pressure water for lumened instruments and a pass-through washer disinfector.
A large freestanding 150-litre autoclave provides sterilisation capacity for all Avenue Health tenants.
In addition there are two sterile stores to optimise storage for different surgical equipment.
